The concept behind this evening is based on the fact that one of
the most important tools that an actor must possess in order to
get work is a good monologue. There are probably hundreds (if not
thousands) of monologue books in print. Actors are in a constant,
never-ending quest for the perfect monologue. They can rehearse
in front of a mirror, but nothing at home can simulate the nerves
they'll feel at an audition. Learning how to channel those nerves,
as well as, getting direct response from an attentive audience can
provide a valuable experience.
MilkBoy's Open Stage will be presented like an open mic. Actors
will be asked to show up at 7 pm and sign their names on a list.
Each actor will be given up to 6 minutes to perform no more than
2 monologues.
