Borrowing from the Open Mic concept we will host an evening that
is devoted to the film maker called Open Reel. We encourage new
and experienced filmmakers to submit short films or short scenes
that range in length of 3 - 8 minutes. Like in an open mic setting
we will provide a host who will introduce each film and filmmaker.
At the end, we might provide time for comments or questions and
then the next film would be introduced.
With the advancement in technology, filmmaking is an art that has
become much more accessible. Computer programs like Windows Movie
Maker and IMovie make it possible to do incredible things on a very
small budget. Our hope is that this event will inspire artists to
create specifically for the evening. The history of open mic has
proven it a place for musicians and singer-songwriters to "cut their
teeth" (sharpen their skills) or try new ideas. We feel this forum
can provide the same opportunity for filmmakers.

All submissions must be 3 to 8 minutes in length, PG-13 or less
and submitted to us in some digital form, i.e. cd-rom, dvd, quicktime
file.
